Random Paris

We all like to be spontaneous; there is no better feeling that being surprised with a special gift, or maybe a box of your favourite chocolates. Not all surprise are good though, sometimes you can end up in a different country on a Sunday afternoon without any way of getting back for work on Monday morning.

So how did I manage to get into this mess? Well for that we need to have a bit of background. In my spare time I like to go to conventions, a couple of weeks before hand I went to an event called MCM otherwise known as London Comicon. While I was wandering around I met a wonderful woman called Jenny, she was an artist working on her own comic. After we chatted for a little while we exchanged numbers and went for a drink at the pub next door.

Fast forward a couple of weeks and we had been on a couple of dates and everything was going well. Jenny had a real passion for art and in my opinion she was very good at it, so good in fact that she got offered an art scholarship over in Florida. Now you can probably see where this is going, we were both having a wonderful time but this was an incredible opportunity for her so we decided that we would make the most of it until she had to leave.

Now that you are all caught up on the history we can explain the “predicament”. The day came where we had to say goodbye. Of course I went to the airport to see her off, I even went as far as to see her off at the gate. Now this is where it gets a little bit odd, after I had seen Jenny board the plane and take off I asked the steward how I could get out of the airport as I couldn’t go back the way I came. She told me to go up the stairs and along the corridor until I see a sign that says “Departures” I thanked her and was on my way, walking along this corridor i couldn’t see a sign anywhere, eventually I ran out of corridor. I thought the best thing to do was to ask for more directions as I had obviously taken a wrong turn… this was my first mistake.

As I walked down to the stairs I hung back as I saw the flight was boarding and I just wanted to ask for directions. Suddenly the lady saw me and pushed me into the crowd of people boarding the plane. I started to panic and start shouting “No no no” she was having none of it, according to her I was getting in this plane. I was in this queue in the tunnel bit I tried to turn around but there were people who were having none of it. I decided my best course of action was to get to the plane then the hostess would realise the mistake and help me get off the plane… I was wrong again.

They sat me down and at this point I had no choice but to accept I was going somewhere. Thankfully I found out it was only Paris. At this point I am half trying too calm down and process what is happening and half composing a strongly worded letter to EasyJet. I don’t know how I end up in these situations.

Thankfully once I arrived in Paris I was able to buy a flight back home and still get into work for Monday morning. So there you have it, that is the story of how I accidently went to Paris, again it was all because of a girl. Still at least Jenny had a good giggle about it
